Acting For The Theatre?

Keneth Mailhot: Great! Since you are a senior, I would suggest looking into community theatre. Are you going to college and if so will it be away from home? I would not suggest jumping straight into a theatre major in college, because this is obviously something new to you, your best bet is to take a few classes whether they be in school, or out in the community. Orlando is great and I know that there are tons of studios around that offer courses for beginning actors.In addition acting is all about just getting yourself out there. Pull together a resume if you have done any theatre at all and if not start trying to find a monologue and musical theatre song that you can go on auditions with. Just putting yourself out there and auditioning will help you feel more confident and will show you what the theatre world is about. Unfortunately since I do not know what you have and have not done in the past I can not say for sure where to start, but if you have never done anything ! what so ever before I suggest taking an acting for beginners class and just learning the basicsAll the best!...Show more
