Jamika Gregorio: The actual cable retracting system is round. As long as you could control the flow of the cabling into and out of the housing (possibly using a conduit), you could use the same round mechanism and build an oblong housing around it. This would not give you more cable storage space though.If you tried to build an oblong system inside an oblong housing, it would not be able to turn and would keep the cable from retracting. You could possibly over come this with a VERY creative mutlistage retraction mechanism....Show more
